Some traits that would make me a good GM would be my ability to create a story using whatever tools I have available. Another would be my ability to work around situations that don’t exactly go my way. If the players do something different then what I originally intended, I’ll work around it rather than telling them OOC to do something else. My events rely on staying immersive, while also giving the players something both challenging and exciting to take down. Along with this, I’ll be sure to give every division something to do that will help them shine (possibly not in the same event, but it will happen eventually).
Using your knowledge of the halo lore, write an event designed for a small squad of people (5-10):
Our team has been assigned to covertly infiltrate an Insurrectionist Stronghold in order to take it out from the inside. Using whatever equipment available to them that won't blow their cover, the team would need to set something up that will assure the stronghold will be unusable to the Insurrectionist holding it. While this is going down, 1 event character would be patrolling the stronghold, searching for any infiltrators. If the squad is caught, reinforcements will arrive, forcing the team into a loud-fire operation, with the same goal in mind. If the team fails to destroy or capture the stronghold, the mission will be a failure.
Now, write an event designed for a large group of players (10-25)
Due to the lack of loyal citizens and loss of hope in the Covenant itself, Jul 'Mdama has resorted to capturing and enslaving both UNSC and SoS soldiers in labor camps to forward their campaign. Our team has been sent to liberate one of these camps as a result. The team would drop and assault the compound, defended by Storm Covenant forces. Meanwhile, the camp's overseer (event character) would do anything within their power to prevent them from freeing the camp, whether that be with threats or calling in for reinforcements.
